Our Ensembles
Emory Choirs offers two distinct ensemble experiences for singers interested in performance, collaboration, and musical growth.
Concert Choir
The Emory Concert Choir is a select forty-voice chamber choir known for its expressive musicianship, wide-ranging repertoire, and strong performance tradition. The ensemble has performed at both the Southern and National Conventions of the American Choral Directors Association and has appeared in distinguished venues around the world, including Avery Fisher Hall in New York City, St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, the Berlinerdom in Berlin, the Vatican in Rome, and St. Nicholas Church in Prague.
Concert Choir performs a broad range of sacred and secular repertoire, spanning from the Middle Ages to the present and from chant to folk song. Recent performances have included works such as Vivaldi’s Gloria, Bach’s Magnificat, Jonathan Dove’s Seek Him Who Maketh the Seven Stars, and Eric Whitacre’s Cloudburst. Through focused rehearsal and collaborative performance, members of Concert Choir develop vocal technique, ensemble awareness, and a deep engagement with meaningful choral music.

University Chorus
Open by audition to all Emory University students as well as members of the broader Emory community, the Emory University Chorus holds a unique place in Emory life. Music majors and non-majors, undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff, parents, alumni, neighbors, workers, and retirees all come together through a shared love of singing.
University Chorus regularly collaborates with the Department of Music’s instrumental ensembles, including the Emory Wind Ensemble and the Emory University Symphony Orchestra. The chorus also participates in the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, one of Emory’s oldest traditions, based on the traditional service at King’s College Chapel in Cambridge, England.
